COVER REVEAL ~ SHANNON'S LAW by Emma Calin!
COVER REVEAL
SHANNON'S LAW by Emma Calin
Thanks so much for hosting the Cover Reveal for my forthcoming contemporary romance SHANNON’S LAW. This is the second in my ‘Passion Patrol Series’ - steamy action-romances that feature sassy female cops who solve crimes, catch crooks and always get their man.
Blurb
Wild child inner city cop Shannon Aguerri walks a dangerous line between her methods and justice. When the bosses lose their nerve, after yet another maverick mission, she is transferred to green pastures to play out the role of a routine village cop. When she encounters signs of people and drug trafficking she homes in on serious millionaire criminals. As a loner she has attracted men but nothing has stuck. When she meets Spencer, the hunky and widowed Earl of Bloxington, there is an immediate rapport between them. Their social differences mean nothing to their passion and need. Already in the mix is an upper class female rival – who has long plotted her way into the Earl's bed. The jealousy is an evil shade of green and the anger is a violent scarlet. Often inhibited by a sense of duty and honour, Spencer is slow to reveal his feelings. When Shannon confronts him with the need to choose between her word and that of her rival, he does not immediately support her. All the same, when they are forced together to carry out a desperate rescue mission, their love is stronger than everything ranged against them.
(Pre-order paperback only at this stage)
I will be revealing snippets from the story, photos of places and people that inspired the venues and characters on Pinterest during my pre-launch book tour. There are already some scrap-book cuttings posted, take a look and follow my board to get updates: http://www.pinterest.com/emmacalin/shannons-law-launch-reveal-on-pinterest/
There is also news about the book on Facebook:
(‘Likes’ are always appreciated.....)
I’m having two launch parties “Afternoon Tea At Bloxington Manor”. The first is online on the 28th February on Facebook and the second is LIVE at the English stately home that inspired the home of my hero on Sunday 2nd March. A local favourite venue for me, Avington Park in Hampshire is steeped in history and tradition. (Think genuine Palladian style rather than Downton Abbey neo-Jacobean). The private owners have kindly agreed to open up for us with a tour of the house and then tea and cake – oh and launch the book of course!

Hoping all your dreams & wishes come true. :)
This year didn’t start too well, some
disturbing news on my partner’s health front giving us cause for concern. As
the year progressed though, we put our faith in the specialists and the
prognosis is all that we could hope for. Sadly, we also lost two people who
were dear to us, and who will stay in our hearts. That said, within our little
family unit, we are safe and content.
Still, though, as I lay in my bed last night, I
found myself wondering why ‘this’ can’t happen and ‘that’ can’t be; having a
bemoaning my lot moment, as we do sometimes. I then had a mental flash of an
image I’d seen on TV, slotted in between the pre-Christmas must-haves and the post-Christmas
sales and holiday ads. I’m not going to reproduce it here, I’m sure you can see
it as starkly as I can when I say it was of a mother desperate for some way to
feed her tiny malnourished child.
I was warm and cosy in my bed. My fridge is
bursting with food aplenty. Knowing I
donate to charities, praying the organisations I donate through ensure the
funds ever get there, I swallowed back a lump in my throat and gave myself a
swift kick up the derrière. Whatever the New Year brings, I realised I was fortunate
enough to be able to cherish fond memories of dear lost relatives, share new
memories with family and friends. I have twinkling tree lights and a fire to
toast my toes in front of. Am I really that badly off? I think not.
When I woke this morning it was with renewed determination
to make this year count, not to be aggressive in what I hope to
achieve, but to be positive, to try to enjoy each moment of each day, even
those where life’s little mishaps come to try us. I doubt I’ll get through the
first week without having a mental moan about something, but I’m going to give
it a go.
I hope everyone I know can find their little
bit of positivity, that their New Year brings them all that they might wish
for. It’s not easy sometimes to count our blessings, but I, for one, realise I
do have a few to count.
A heartfelt thank you to all my friends and supporters. I really could not have got through this year without you!
Stay safe. Be happy.

Snoops and Odi wish you A HAPPY CHRISTMAS.
Odi is having a bit of a wardrobe malfunction.
As his little spine isn’t functioning too well either, we’ve decided to
overlook the fact that he’s wearing the same dress he wore last Christmas. He’s
doing well, however, and would like to thank everyone for their concern and wishes
you all a Christmas filled with joy, and lots of chewies.
When he can get a look in, Snoops would like
to thank everyone for their support this year, particularly all those lovely
people who have taken time (a precious commodity in today’s hectic world) to read
and post some truly beautiful reviews for his books.
From homeless to
happy, both of my hunter/killer foster dogs would like to wish everyone a
peaceful Christmas and a New Year that sees all your dreams and hopes come
true.
KEEP SAFE.
Have a wonderful Christmas & a happy new year!

Next Christmas Will Be Different ~ Pauline Barclay. FREE + REVIEW!
Today I have the pleasure of hosting Pauline Barclay, author of four top
selling novels! Pauline has released a short festive story in time for
Christmas, Next Christmas Will Be
Different, a beautiful read, and it's now FREE!
Host’s note: I’ve read it. I love it!
"Thanks Sheryl for having me on your fabby blog to promote my short
story. As you know I wanted Next
Christmas Will Be Different to be available as a free download on all
e-readers, and I am delighted to announce it is! It's a little gift from me to
say thank you to all the fabby readers who have read my books."
Next Christmas Will Be
Different.
When the O’Reilly family gather for the festive season it is a time for
catching up, eating too much and making promises, but can the promises be kept?
Sheryl’s Review:
Coming from a large family myself, I immediately warmed to the O’Reilly
clan. Pauline Barclay’s ‘Next Christmas Will Be Different’ drew me in from the
first page. A truly heart-warming story turning around Mary O’Reilly and her
grown family coming together to celebrate Christmas, I felt less like a voyeur
watching proceedings as the various generations slipped into their traditional
roles under ‘Nana’s’ roof, more like a member of the family sitting alongside
them. Reading this short, sweet story felt like coming home. It’s a lovely
reminder of what it means to have family you can share that special time of
year with; of how, no matter the distance or differences between you, you can
easily fall into familiar step with your loved ones. A reminder also, perhaps,
to appreciate them while you have them, especially Mum. The antics of the men
were so typical I just had to smile. I sincerely hope I can visit the O’Reilly
family again next year – and that nothing at all is different.
As a bonus, Pauline has also included five FREE chapters from each
of her novels: Storm Clouds Gathering, Satchfield Hall, Magnolia House, Sometimes
It Happens! (If you would like to read my review for Sometimes It Happens, go
