Thank you so much Sheryl for letting me come and
talk about my new book on your blog.
I believe that it's harder to write comedy than any
other genre. In order to write grunge, all I have to do is walk over the corner
shop in the rain, glance at the headlines on the papers, hand in another dud
lottery ticket, fail to find a decent Co-op Gorgonzola and tread in a pile of
dog mess on the way home. Once I've done that, WOW – let me loose on the
misery, I'm fired up. Imagine what you would have to do to feel funny –
although the parliamentary channel on TV must provide some inspiration.
I've just been looking at Sheryl's video trailer
for her soon-to-be released book “A Little Bit of Madness”. It's a work of
pop art colour and verve with a glorious eccentric soundtrack. In my guest post
here today I'm featuring my own video trailer for my new release “Escape to Love”.
*Host's Note: It's FABulous! Do take a look!*
*Host's Note: It's FABulous! Do take a look!*
We had a lot of fun making it. Any would-be film critics out there might like to spot the accidental builder's bum shot and maybe even identify the cheeky actor... there is a giveaway prize copy of Escape To Love to be drawn from all the folk who comment below. If you can't identify the actor, why not share with us a Great Escape that you have had?
As with the last two books, Escape
To Love comes with a FREE downloadable MP3 audiobook – so you can choose to
read, or sit back, relax and listen.
The
book is available from Amazon worldwide at US$2.99, CAN$3.00, £UK1.89, €2.6.
Even in the barren wasteland of
urban decay new green life is possible. In Nature and in Love, that which can
be somehow finds a crack, a corner or ledge and grasps its chance of life.
A woman on the run from domestic
violence with no one but her vulnerable and damaged teenage child as a
companion, lives in isolation and fear. While her hand to mouth scenarios are
played out in the shadow of a threatening suspense, a story of crime and love
unfolds around her. She cannot risk her child. Her own longings for love and
romance have to take a poor second place. When the fallout from a prison break,
a hero rescue and a murder mystery crash through her door and into her need and
loneliness, it is no longer a crime story. It is a question of when Love in
itself is a crime and how far a woman will go in its name and for those she
loves.
